Country Life magazine has voted Fakenham the seventh best place to live in England. If you are looking for a bustling market place then visit on a Thursday and have a look around Fakenham Market. The market teems with local produce. On the fourth Saturday of every month, Fakenham also offers a Farmer's Market. This is especially good for home-made, regional foodstuffs.
The architecture of Fakenham is particularly pretty and is characterised by flint faced buildings. Recent development in the town has been sympathetic to the architectural style and, in the market square, a new floor display charts Fakenham's history as the 'gateway to the norfolk coast'.
